Asya Margaryan

Senior Teacher
Asya Margaryan started dancing at the age of 6 in Armenia. Following her passion for dance she received her formal training in Yerevan State Dancing College which exposed her to many dance genres such as classical ballet, contemporary, jazz and character dance.

In 2007 she was awarded the Ministry of Education scholarship to further her dance studies at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts here in Singapore. During her time at NAFA she had many opportunities to work with numerous great choreographers such as, Larry Clark (Purchase Conservatory of Dance, New York) Lionel Araya (L.A Dance Connection, Los Angeles/Singapore), Rose Borromeo (Spanish Dance Company, Singapore) and many others. Besides specialising in classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, Asya’s dance talent also includes other genres such as Flamenco, Tap, Street Dance and Hip Hop.

Upon graduation Asya decided to further her passion for dance through teaching where she can continue to impart her knowledge and love for dance to young children as well as adults. She has taught in China and Cambodia and has spent the last 10 years teaching here in Singapore. Asya prides herself in always creating a strong rapport with her students and thrives in making sure her classes are always creative, fun and encouraging. She is thrilled to be a part of the team here at DATD!
